Michael Macdonald, Passive House Designer

We are delighted to announce that our Associate, Michael Macdonald, has passed his exams and is now an accredited Passive House Designer. This strengthens CAA’s ability to deliver buildings that are comfortable, efficient and designed with long-term performance in mind.

Passive House is an internationally recognised approach that focuses on creating a well-insulated and airtight building, with carefully designed windows and ventilation to reduce heat loss. This means your home needs very little energy to stay warm in winter and cool in summer; running costs are lower, comfort is more consistent and air quality is noticeably improved.

With Michael’s accreditation, Colin Armstrong Architects can now offer tailored design services for both new and existing buildings. We can support clients aiming for the Passive House standard on new builds, or the Enerphit standard for retrofits, helping you achieve a healthier, more efficient and sustainable building.
